An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced transport professional to join an Australian business as a transport allocator in their operations team on the afternoon shift. You’ll gain an ongoing casual role in their team in Wollongong with opportunity for permanency.

**Your new role**

In your new role as transport allocator, your key responsibilities will include:

- Taking full responsibility for the transport operations of the afternoon shift.
- Addressing and resolving any operational issues, coordinating drivers, and ensuring adequate staffing requirements.
- Working closely with the day shift operations team to plan transport requirements and pre-empt potential issues, while collaborating with the team in the yard, warehouse staff and drivers.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Previous experience in road transportation, with allocations experience highly regarded, and a demonstrated understanding of import/export logistics and associated regulations.
- Good systems skills, with a working knowledge of logistics software i.e., Cargowise, 1-Stop etc., and competency in the MS Office package.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working with staff across warehousing, operations, and management, with proven leadership qualities, and excellent time management skills.
