An exciting position available for an experienced support worker in AOD for afternoon and overnight shifts as required

- The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services). We work to a modern, evidence based and holistic Model of Care which can be viewed here:- We are currently seeking values-driven and proactive Support Workers to provide quality care and support to participants of Gold Coast Recovery Services by working effectively and assisting case workers to provide a comprehensive client service in accordance with established procedures and in line with TSA mission.- This is a full time position. You will have the ability to work on a 24/7 roster including afternoon and overnight shifts in a Residential Rehabilitation facility and/or a 24/7 Withdrawal Management unit based at Eagle Heights, Mt Tamborine.- You will successfully- Offer appropriate support and assistance to Fairhaven Bridge Program participants and Detox Unit clients in a collaborative client focussed approach
- Empower and work with participants to meet individual needs, including assessment, relationship building, development of community support and support plans
- Support life skills/training programs and assist in ensuring the mental health programme continues to be relevant
- Ensure access for participants /families to relevant services, support options both within TSA Network and external agencies and advocate as appropriate- You will have- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drug studies or similar with a minimum of 2 years experience working with people recovering from alcohol and other drug addictions or vulnerable people
- Available for overnight and afternoon shifts on a 24/7 roster
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Current drivers licence with a LR or higher preferred
- Current and valid QLD Blue Card
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
