An opportunity for a People Business Partner or Advisor to work in an engaging and supportive workplace at highly regarded Legal firm.

**Your role**
You will be excited to work closely with our people leaders and staff to help drive performance to support the firm's vision and strategy. You will be responsible for the delivery of people initiatives and operations across the employee life cycle within your client groups locally and nationally. This includes:

- coaching partners and managers to lead their teams to develop performance and capability
- managing People and Development cyclical activities in onboarding, performance reviews, remuneration reviews, promotions, and departures
- participating in client group meetings, sharing information and communication on people and performance plans and initiatives
- managing employee relations and performance management issues and providing support
- recruitment (end to end) for roles within your allocated groups
- performance and talent management
- OH&S compliance
- support wider People and Development team with graduate lawyer recruitment; talent management initiatives; capability development and reward initiatives; policy updates; and other People and Development projects.

**About you**
Reporting to the Head of people and Development, you will be confident to work as a stand-alone Business Advisor or Business Partner based in our Sydney Office.
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources, management, business or equivalent preferred
- Solid experience within a generalist position, within the legal or professional services environment is highly desirable
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders and senior leaders through clear and succinct verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality advice and guidance on people plans, engagement and initiatives
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Fair Work Act, Awards and contractual requirements, and Workplace Health and Safety legislation
- Understands key business drivers and brings strategic and commercial thinking to plans and activities
- Ability to build rapport and foster trusted relationships within the team and across the firm
- Ability to take initiative and ownership when it comes to role deliverables and projects
- A demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team and willingness to assist other team members as required
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple and competing priorities to ensure service delivery
