As a Qantas Aircraft Maintenance Technician/Engineer (AME) you will be responsible for performing Aircraft Maintenance and rectification as per manufacturers’ and company specification to a high standard. You will be working with a range of specialist teams within our hangar environments, enabling you to provide excellent engineering standards on a solid foundation of safety, quality, reliability and service.
Located within Engine & Component Maintenance Services, our Engine Maintenance Services team is expanding, and we have multiple opportunities to work in our newly relocated Engine shop. We are looking for qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (Mechanical OR Avionics).
Engine Shop
You will be removing and installing quick engine change and line replaceable components, managing storage of engine assets and rectification of engine related repairs for Qantas Group and customer airlines as per manufacturer/company specifications.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out C checks on our engines (CFM56-7, CF6-80E1, CF6-80C2) and applicable APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) types
- Remove and install quick-engine-change (QEC/de-QEC)
- Carry out full borescope inspections of engines and APU’s
- Remove, inspect and install fan blades
- Carry out engine preservation
- Receive engines into Engine Maintenance Services and prepare engines for shipping
- Carry out engine modifications i.e. booster replacements
Eligible criteria
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical/Avionics) or Australian recognised equivalent qualification
- Experience working directly with engines. Working with the following engines would be advantageous: CF6-80E1, CF6-80C2, CFM56-7
- Have an aircraft maintenance technician trade qualification or equivalent, preferably under EASA or CASA regulations
- Relevant Aircraft Maintenance trade experience minimum 6 years (Mechanical, Structures or Avionics)
- Extensive Aircraft servicing experience on various aircrafts in a maintenance environment (advantageous)
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Aircraft Maintenance procedures
- Commitment to all safe working practices and service standards
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to being customer focused with flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
- Highly developed attention to detail
- Demonstrated high ethical/behaviour standards and self-discipline
- Ability to work shift work
- Meet all Visa requirements including English Language Proficiency with the ability to meet the English language requirements set by the Department of Home Affairs
