**We are seeking to establish a pool of Level 2 Casual Learning and Engagement Assistants for vacancies that may arise within the next 12 months with the possibility of permanent, fixed term full-time, part-time appointments.**

The Western Australian Museum is a vibrant centre of inspiration, learning and enjoyment for everyone. It preserves, documents and shares collections relating to the State’s natural and cultural heritage. It collaborates with people across Western Australia to share the stories and voices of diverse communities. It works alongside national and international organisations, contributing to global research, promoting life-long learning, and developing and hosting world-class exhibitions.

**About the role**

The Learning and Engagement Assistant’s role is to support the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality education and public programs, experiences and resources relating to the WA Museum Boola Bardip. The Learning and Engagement Assistants assist in the facilitation of visitor experiences which enhance the Museum visit with a focus on preparation and delivery, as well as supporting the training of other Museum staff and volunteers for the delivery of these experiences where necessary.

**About you**

We are looking for enthusiastic and engaging individuals who are passionate about delivering programs in the Museum and thrive in a customer facing role.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

- Present educational and public programs to a variety of audiences.
- Support the production of programs, experiences and events which includes the set-up, delivery and pack down of events, programs and activities relating to education and public programs.
- Assist in communication with program participants, including meeting and greeting participants; and ensure all visitors experience an exemplary level of customer service.
- Other duties specified in the attached Job Description Form (JDF) and as required with respect to the scope of the position.

- Demonstrated experience presenting engaging education and public programs to a variety of audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a range of age groups including early learners, primary and secondary students, adult learners, educators and the broader public or experience in producing and delivering cultural events.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the development and evaluation of education programs, activities and events relevant to a Museum or other learning or event environments.

The remaining work-related requirements will be assessed at a later stage in the recruitment process.

A current **National Police Clearance Certificate**(within six months) will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

**Pool Recruitment**

This Pool will be open for a period of **12** **months** from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. This pool will be used to initially offer **casual** vacancies as they arise, however applicants deemed suitable to the pool may be offered a **permanent, fixed term, full time, part time**appointments as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Applicants found suitable in this Pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) for the duration of the Pool.
