About the job

This is an exciting new Project Controls Specialist role, introduced to focus on planning, managing, tracking, and controlling mining projects and initiatives across our bauxite mining operations in Western Australia. This includes an array of different projects and other major initiatives like the WA Mining Capability projects.

Primarily based at our WA Mining Hub in Pinjarra, this position works Monday to Friday each week and offers a monthly leisure day as well as the flexibility to work from home two days a week: working close to operations, returning to the luxury of your own home each night and work/life balance

In this role, you will play a key part in:
- Establishing the Mining Project Management Office (PMO),- Defining the various project's goals and objectives,- Creating and maintaining project tasks and resources, budgets, and schedules,- Managing project status meetings and generating project status reports,- Analysing progress reported against the work schedules and recommending actions to improve progress,- Enabling the business and the leadership team to view the status of various projects at any point in time.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, Project Management, or related discipline- Previous experience in a similar project engineering and/or project management role in Mining or related industry- Demonstrated experience in Operations and EPCM environments in mining- Proficient in using project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.)- Experience in managing waterfall and agile projects- Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills- Strong attention to detail, prioritising, and problem-solving skills with experience coordinating high-volume workloads- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders- Excellent written and verbal communication
