Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.
We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at **Thomas Embling Hospital in Fairfield **and will be required to work across all Forensicare sites.
Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital,?located in Fairfield?just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.?Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation, and continuing care programs. The Victorian Government is investing $462.5m to redevelop the Thomas Embling Hospital to deliver the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System by delivering an additional 82 beds, including a dedicated Women’s precinct and provide a purpose-built facility to deliver best care for our patients and become a workplace of choice for staff.
**About the Role**:
The Manager Facilities & Asset Management is responsible for leading the facilities management function for Forensicare across all its sites, with the primary focus being the Thomas Embling Hospital, Victoria’s secure Forensic Mental Health hospital in Fairfield. In addition to overseeing day-to-day facilities & asset management activities, the role has a particular focus on maturing our asset management functions in line with the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) and best practice, as well as looking towards the expansion of the hospital and the resulting growth in facilities management requirements.
**Duties**:
- Be an effective leader of the Facilities and Asset Management team
- Manage the effective and efficient delivery of maintenance across Forensicare sites
- Develop and oversee execution of the annual planned and preventative maintenance plan and proactively identifying areas where additional investment is required.
- Ensuring best-practice responsive reactive and preventative maintenance activities
- Lead the continual improvement of Forensicare’s Strategic Asset Management Plan and Physical Asset Management Plan
- Ensure Forensicare is compliant with its obligations under the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF), relevant National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
- Work closely with the redevelopment project team and other capital project managers and contractors to ensure contractors are inducted, service interfaces are identified and risks to operational continuity are identified and mitigated or managed.
- Ensure contracts within the area of responsibility are well managed with contract management plans in place
- Promote a positive and customer service approach, ensure constructive and collaborative engagements with all key stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of the Asset Management Accountability Framework, relevant Australian standards and legislation, and the BCA
