Ignite is seeking a a Laboratory Assistant with an interest &
**background pertaining to yeast / food testing**.

Our client is a food ingredients and consumer branded food products manufacturer.

Their product ranges include bakers' yeast, yeast extracts, speciality yeast products such as wine/brewers' yeast and bakery ingredients.

In this very modern and pleasant working environment with very supportive management.

**Duties you will be required to assist with**:

- Routine laboratory testing of dry & wet yeast using a range of laboratory tools and equipment
- Mixing of dough for the purposes of testing batches of yeast
- Recording and reporting of test results Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with agreed standards.
- Ensuring consistency in accuracy, quality and timely output of work.
- Actively participating in productivity improvements within the laboratory.
- Comply with applicable health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and statutory obligations
- Ensure good interaction with other business departments where applicable
- Routine bench testing "Clean" environment Contract with potential to go perm.
- ** BA in Food Science or similar or Certificate IV in laboratory techniques** ,
- Will be a quality-focused individual with excellent attention to detail, have good communication skills and have the ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- In addition you will be proactive, highly organised and have a meticulous attention to detail.
- Will have appropriate qualifications in laboratory / science or similar Good understand of Quality Assurance / Quality Control / NATA standards;
- Good computing skills and willingness to learn.
- Team player

Hours of work: typically 7.5 per day, from 8.30am - 5pm however some flexibility will be required to accommodate potentially changing shifts and testing.

As this position will go permanent work rights must be Permanent resident or above.
