**About the company**:
The Fan Shop is a family based retail business which has been established for over 35 years and specialises in ceiling fans, light fittings and LED products. We offer advice and detailed information on all our products to our customers, and pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge of products and installations. We have recently expanded our product rage are currently expanding our online presence to offer customers more way to learn about our products and shop online.
Our team are multiskilled and can work in different areas to help each other and finish tasks more effectively. All the staff have come from varying backgrounds and with different skill areas. Everyone is continually growing and learning new skills as the business advances. We are looking for someone to join our team as we continue to grow and expand.
**About the role**:
We are offering a 5 day position, as a retail store assistant and sales person to work at both our Hendon store and at the Cumberland Park store. Availability to work weekends is essential. We have a friendly and caring team that always looks after each other.
The position involves managing customer service requirements and may include:
- Sales and customer service
- Assisting customers in selecting the right product
- Point of sale EFT and cash transaction
- Contacting suppliers and reps for product information, stock availability and pricing
- Assisting with stock control (receiving in, packing & dispatching goods, and restocking in store)
- General store duties, cleaning/tidying
- Assist in pricing products
- Assist with updating store website (training will be provided)
- Assist in updating showroom displays
- Write product information and articles
**Experiences/Skills we are looking for**:
- Experience in a retail or sales environment is an advantage, if not, an attitude that is willing and open to learning so we can teach you
- A passion for sales
- Proficient computer skills to be able to learn and use new software
- Able to show initiative, while able to take direction
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Must be well presented and polite
- A current driver’s licence, and reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work over a 7-day roster, including weekends
- Able to lift heavy boxes up to 10 kg
- High attention to detail
- Able to work in a busy fast paced environment, especially during peak season
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and quick thinking
- Has the initiative to take on tasks and duties without being asked (e.g. help with cleaning, checking on orders, or update product information during quite times)
- Must be able to work weekends
- Able to work at two locations, Hendon and Cumberland Park
- Able to comply with OH&S requirements to ensure the personal safety of co-workers and customers
- Can follow COVID guidelines (when applicable) - assist in regular cleaning, help and make sure that customers, delivery drivers and other staff check in to the business location, follow mask wearing requirements, can also work from home in the event of a lockdown/heavy restrictions.

We follow government requirements fow when mask are mandatory for both staff and customers. We also make efforts to increase cleaning on common surfaces/areas, social distance where possible, and offer more delivery options to customers.
