**About the role**:
Reporting to the GM - Merchandise, the Buyer will be key to maximising General Merchandise / Consumables category sales, buying income and market share through focus on engaging the Baby Bunting customer. You will be focussed on profitable product development, selection and sourcing of merchandise that reflects the departmental strategic plan and overall company strategy.

**Key deliverables;**
- Develop, manage and deliver buying plans to ensure the achievement of all key financial measures
- Establish and maintain merchandise assortment to ensure the right stock, right time, right price.
- Research merchandise trends, product history, Supplier information and competitor activity to maximise business opportunities.
- Develop/source products in line with company and category strategy plan.
- Explore and assess market/product trends - local and international.
- Build strategic relationships that align with business strategy, customer needs, product and financial plans.

**What you'll bring to the role**:

- Minimum 10 years buying experience
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to analyse data to ensure acceptable return on investment is achieved.
- Experience partnering and collaborating cross-functionally
- Foster an environment where the creation and implementation of staff learning and development initiatives is valued and given priority.
