**Role Description/Criteria**
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, highly motivated and innovative professionals to join our Pastoral Care team in the role of Youth Worker.
This is a full-time, **12 month maternity leave replacement role **commencing as soon as possible.
The successful applicant will be part of the College Wellbeing team and provide support for the College Community by facilitating supportive strategies for students whose behaviour, school progress, mental or physical condition or situation require a need for significant supportive assistance in order to maximise their wellbeing and engagement in college life and learning.
**Attributes and skills**:
It is expected that the successful applicant will
- Be approachable, highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic.
- Have experience working with students with a diverse range of needs.
- Be able to build positive relationships with students and assist in creating environments where all are valued.
- Demonstrate an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students.
- Have a lively and practical understanding towards the Catholic nature of the College
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to young people, especially those ‘at-risk’
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Proficiency with administrative skills and ability to use computer/online programs
All Staff are expected to support and participate in the faith life of the College including commitment to the College Mission, ethos and participate in ongoing professional development and learning.
