**In 2021, Entain acquired unikrn to launch the company's esports practice. Unikrn is one of the world's preeminent esports betting platforms. Unikrn paved the wave in the sports betting industry by offering esports odds across 35 titles, as well as virtual esports and streamer betting. Unikrn also boasts a skill-based betting platform that allows players to wager on themselves in ranked matches in the world's most popular gaming titles.**
**Objective of the role**:
**Role Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for leading the design team at Unikrn, ensuring that they are delivering high-quality work that meets business objectives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Uphold exceptional design standards. Working with your team and key decision-makers, you will propel the design function forward, improving how we create, deploy, and launch exceptional experiences for our customers. You will be responsible for defining and implementing design processes and best practices, and for ensuring that your team is following them.
- Maintain a unified design language and vision. Work with the brand and marketing teams to create consistent experiences by constructing our design systems. You will be responsible for defining and maintaining our design language and style guide, and for ensuring that your team is using it consistently across all of our products.
- Encourage customer-oriented design throughout Unikrn. You will contribute to our strategy and vision, which are rooted in product and design. Collaborating with our product, marketing, and analytics teams, you will identify opportunities and areas for improvement. You will augment existing experiences and define major new strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring that your team is delivering designs that meet the needs of our customers, and that they are using data and research to inform their design decisions.
- Lead by example and be hands-on when necessary. You will work closely with your team to deliver high-quality work, and you will be responsible for ensuring that your team is meeting deadlines and delivering on business objectives. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring your team, and for providing feedback and guidance to help them grow and develop their skills.
Key Skills Required
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 8+ years of experience leading a design team, with a proven track record of delivering results and building high-performing teams. You should have experience managing and mentoring designers, and you should be able to demonstrate your ability to develop and implement design processes and best practices.
- Capable of providing clarity and insight to problems that are broad and ambiguous in scope, by integrating user, business, and technical constraints into a compelling narrative.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You should be able to communicate your design ideas and decisions clearly and persuasively, and you should be able to work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create exceptional user experiences.
- Experience working in an agile development environment. You should be familiar with agile development methodologies and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A passion for design and a deep understanding of how design can drive business success. You should be passionate about design and be able to articulate the value of design to the broader organisation.
Advantageous Requirements
- Having prior knowledge of sports betting would be advantageous.
- An in-depth understanding of esports.
