**APS6 Internal Review Officer** will work within a team that manages the Agency's handling and resolution of reviews and complaints.

**About the Team**

The
**Internal Reviews and Complaints Branch** is the central point of coordination for the Agency's handling and resolution of reviews and complaints. Working directly with participants, providers, internal staff and external agencies, the branch aims to manage and resolve reviews and complaints in a timely manner.

The Internal Review Team delivers a streamlined approach to manage the client experience of internal reviews and the protect the Agency's reputation. The team assists participants who seek internal reviews and makes decisions that are timely, consistent and clearly explained.

**About the Role**

The

The
**APS6 Internal Review Officer** will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It may liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the Agency.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Working closely with prospective participants and participants to understand the nature and context of their request for a decision to be reviewed.
- Making evidence-based review decisions in line with Agency frameworks, guidelines and policies.
- Communicating effectively with participants and their representatives to explain reasons for decisions, the review and appeals process and available options.
- Monitoring and managing caseloads and ensuring internal reviews are completed within a timely manner.
- Collaborating with team members to share and develop specialised knowledge in areas of expertise.
- Contributing to quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and systems.

**About You**:

- Ideally you will have relevant education and experience in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations, as well as:

- Fully vaccinated to work in the office
- Adaptable when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment
- Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to engage and support other individuals in fulfilling their role effectively
- Provide a level of technical, functional and professional skill or knowledge
- Maintain self-imposed standards of excellence
