Food Services Assistant

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced part time Food Service assistants to join our Patient Food Services Department.

Your experience and knowledge must include Food Safety and OH&S, working in large fast paced environments, working within teams, strong focus on delivering high standards of customer service and promoting food services with patients and stakeholders.

Part time roles

Heidelberg location at Austin Hospital/Repat/Royal Talbot

Austin Health provides hospital services across three sites in Heidelberg and Kew.

Our Food Services Department supplies meals for all sites, plating approximately 2,700 meals per day.

As a Food Services Assistant you will:

- Plate and deliver meals to patients
- Complete food safety records
- Perform dishwashing and general cleaning duties
- Remove rubbish as required

You will need to have:

- Experience working in a large fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Food Safety and OH&S
- Good attention to detail with food presentation and tray accuracy
- A high standard of customer service with patients and staff
- The ability to work in a team
