The Disability Support Worker - Mental Health provides person-centred support to individuals living with psychosocial disabilities and/or mental health conditions. This role focuses on empowering participants to live independently, engage with their communities, and achieve their personal goals in line with their NDIS plan.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical, emotional, and social support to clients with psychosocial disabilities.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and domestic tasks.
- Support clients to develop independent living skills and engage in social, recreational, or vocational activities.
- Assist with implementation of behaviour support strategies and recovery-oriented practices.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation including progress notes and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other health professionals.
- Support participants to exercise choice and control over their lives in alignment with the NDIS Practice Standards.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for clients at all times.
- Adhere to organisational policies, the NDIS Code of Conduct, and relevant legislation

Essential Criteria
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field.
- Understanding of mental health conditions, recovery principles, and trauma-informed care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $43.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 32 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
