The Opportunity

COVID19 has killed at least six million people in two years and shows little evidence of abating. To end the pandemic, we need to develop ‘universal’ vaccines generating protective antibodies that prevent infection and viral transmission and are resistant to not just current but also future variants.
We have secured a funding to further develop our promising early-phase universal Covid vaccine. We are looking for a talented post-doctoral graduate or research assistant with 5+ years’ experience in immunology to spearhead this highly impactful project.

This rewarding project lies at the interface between industry and academia, with the joint goals of impacting patient care and academic contribution to the field. The role exemplifies highly translational therapeutic research.

- Annual Base Salary of up to $90,253 + 14 % super (depending on experience) (+14% super).

Key Responsibilities
- Planning and operation of pre-clinical vaccination studies in mouse models
- Perform flow cytometry analysis of mouse mononuclear cells and cell culture experiments
- Interpretation of experimental findings
- Multi-omic single-cell sorting and sequencing
- Pseudo-neutralisation and virology assays in PC2 environments
- Supervision of junior lab personnel
- Regularly attendance and engagement in meetings with the Immunogenomics Laboratory and wider Research Division.

About You

In order to be successful in this position, the following key skills and attributes are important:

- Possess a BSc or MSc or equivalent and either a PhD or 4+ years of experimental experience in immunology
- Ability to analyse and solve problems in a methodical and logical manner.
- An interest in gaining relevant research experience
- Excellent communication and time management skills and willingness to work as part of a team
