Disability Support Worker

The role of the Support Worker is to undertake a range of personal care & hygiene such as cleaning and maintaining living spaces, preparing and serving meals, assisting with laundry and ironing. This role involves providing guidance to junior staff or new employees and monitoring the quality of work performed by others as well as reporting any issues or concerns to higher-level supervisors.

The Disability Support Worker conduct regular checks to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard, address any deficiencies or areas for improvement and maintain records of work performed and any issues encountered.

ADEC is looking for Disability Support Worker required for the current languages: _**Cantonese**_, _**Italian & Greek**_ **across the following locations**:

- _Keilor East VIC 3033_
- _Reservoir VIC 3073_
- _Coburg VIC 3058_
- _Preston VIC 3072_
- _Northcote VIC 3070_

**OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL**
- **Certificate III in Individual Support**and experience ideally in the home care environment
- **Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate.**:

- **Hold a valid and current licence to drive a motor vehicle**, issued by the appropriate authority in the jurisdiction in which the holder will drive, and an insured vehicle to be drive.
- **Ability to work without direct supervision**, within guidelines and procedures.
- Excellent **time management** and task planning skills.
- **Previous experience** of working with carers from ethnic communities.
- Second language**:Cantonese,** **Italian or Greek**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assistance with community access and recreational activities
- Personal care (showering, toileting, and hygiene assistance)
- Manual handling and the use of wheelchairs & hoists
- Transportation and social engagement
- Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
- Behavioural and Mental Health Support
