We’re a healthy pet food company in WA that is on the path of growth and expansion. To support our growth in all areas of the business, we are now seeking a Production Manager to oversee all aspects of our food manufacturing operations.
**About the role**
The role will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, managing resources, and implementing strategies to maximise productivity and quality.
manufacturing operation as either a Production Manager. Whilst there will also be an element of general management, this is a hands-on position with an emphasis on production management.
Reporting to the Director, you will be required to manage a team of operators and supervise and control the production and distribution of meals whilst maintaining product quality and integrity at all times.
The ability to multi-task is important and to be successful in this role you must
have excellent communication skills, as the successful applicant will be liaising
with the Management Team, Production Staff, Suppliers, Customers and
Contractors to ensure that the companies objectives are being achieved as well
as a strong desire to exceed customer expectations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee daily operations of the production facility, including planning, scheduling, and execution of production activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes and reduce costs
- Monitor production output and quality to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Manage inventory levels and procurement of raw materials using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to meet production demands.
- Lead and motivate a team of production staff, providing coaching and guidance
to achieve performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies,
including HACCP and GMP standards.
- Prepare reports and analysis on production performance, utilising data
analytics to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and
safety in the production process.
- Oversee all departments to ensure efficient coordination of the planning, supply
and production to achieve DIFOT.
- Work with director and staff to maximise machine, staffing and scheduling efficiency.
- Lead the team by example to drive accountability and set the standard of best
practices in the performance of duties and tasks, by ensuring that operational objectives are communicated and achieved daily.
- Ensure that all staff adhere to safety requirements, standards and practices
and embed a safety culture.
- Oversee the receiving, checking and processing of incoming deliveries.
- Supervise the ordering and processing of any required stock materials
- Manage the recruitment of new production staff.
**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
To be considered for this key role, you must have;
- Proven experience in a food production environment including supervisory experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of production processes, quality standards, and health and safety regulations, including HACCP, WHS and HR protocols.
- Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication and team-building skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suites and the ability to learn internal systems
- Advanced proficiency in English
