It is an exciting time to be part of the energy transmission industry and especially at Powerlink, as we help shape energy transformation in Queensland and Australia. As part of this, we are planning and delivering a large number of major projects, including renewable energy developments, across Queensland.
To support these projects we currently have multiple opportunities for experienced Project Controllers to optimise cost performance, supporting Project Managers to effectively deliver projects through the provision of accurate and timely cost information - allowing for decision making based on current and projected project performance.
**About the role**:
- Establish the work breakdown structure (WBS), distribute and maintain budget, forecast management, budget revisions, variations and contingency in line with the cost control systems.

- Review, maintain and actively challenge the forecast costs and identify any deviations or trends.
- Provide technical expertise to the project teams in monitoring and controlling project costs.
- Prepare project accruals, including claims, invoices and supporting documents for complex projects.
- Develop project and performance reporting metrics using earned value management.
- Develop timely and accurate reports for all stages of the project life cycle.
- Manage the timely close out of projects.
**About you**:
You have a vast amount of experience in a similar role, preferably in large scale construction projects and have the following knowledge and skills:
- Cost management and project cost controls.
- Extracting and analysing cost information, ensuring schedule and cost phasing data are aligned.
- Analytical skills with ability to draw and interpret relevant consistent data from multiple sources and present information in clear concise reports.
- Experience in ERP systems such as SAP and Project Server coupled with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using MS Project and/or Primavera would be desirable.
Your qualifications should include:
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Project Management or a lessor qualification plus significant experience in a project delivery environment.
**What next?**:
