**Support Worker - Complex Needs & Behaviours | Hurlstone Park NSW**

**About the Role**

This role involves working with participants who:

- Experience complex behaviours and benefit from calm, consistent supervision
- Use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices due to limited verbal communication
- May show signs of impulsivity, agitation, or difficulty adjusting to changes in routine
- Require respectful assistance with personal care and daily regulation strategies

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide personal care and structured in-home support
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques
- Work in alignment with positive behaviour support plans
- Support safe community participation (with 2:1 support when needed)
- Prepare simple meals and help with domestic routines
- Communicate respectfully with participants, families, and coordinators

**Schedule**
- 4 days/week (ideally Tuesday to Friday)
- 4 hours/day (approx. 2:30pm-6:30pm)
- Immediate start available
- Location: Hurlstone Park, NSW

**Essential Requirements**
- Minimum 1 year experience supporting individuals with complex needs
- Understanding of restrictive practices and behaviour risk management
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Strong, calm communicator with excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience with Autism, intellectual disability, and trauma-informed support (preferred)
- Prior use of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) tools (preferred)
