The Department of Treasury and Finance provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies. We strive for excellence in financial and economic management to improve the lives of all Victorians.
The Market Housing team advises the Government on opportunities to improve the accessibility and sustainability of Victoria's housing market, through best practice policy development and delivery. This team is responsible for the successful $1.6 billion Victorian Homebuyer Fund, a shared equity scheme whereby the Government co-invests with participants in residential property, in exchange for an equivalent equity share. The Government delivers this scheme in partnership with a range of external partners.
About the role
This position will play a key role in supporting the delivery, oversight and improvement of the Victorian Homebuyer Fund. It will also support new projects delivered by the team from time to time, and have the opportunity to contribute to new policy/project development to improve the housing market or Victoria's economic performance more broadly.
- Support the delivery and management of the Victorian Homebuyer Fund, and other market housing policies/projects developed and/or delivered by the team over time.
- Play a key role in managing project controls, such as working with stakeholders to maintain the program/schedule, budget, contract register and project management plan, and reporting.
- Develop evidence-based policies/initiatives and proposals to improve existing policies/initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders to build relationships, communicate and consult in an effective and influential manner.
- Support core government business, which includes preparing briefings, responding to correspondence, developing papers for committees, agendas and record-keeping.
- Proactively contribute to team culture, by attending team activities, helping to organise team events, and contributing to team discussions.
