Are you an experienced mental health professional with strong leadership skills? Western Health is seeking a dedicated Intake & HOPE Team Leader to oversee and support our Intake and HOPE Teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring effective, recovery-oriented community mental health services.

This is a full-time position with the benefit of an Accrued Day Off (ADO). As the Intake & HOPE Team Leader, you will provide operational oversight, clinical guidance, and strategic direction to the Intake and HOPE Teams. You will ensure that assessments, referrals, and post-crisis interventions are managed efficiently and aligned with best practices. The role also involves staff supervision, professional development facilitation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service coordination and access pathways.
This leadership position requires a highly motivated individual with clinical expertise and the ability to manage team performance in a fast-paced environment. The role operates during standard business hours, Monday to Friday.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership, supervision, and clinical guidance to the Intake and HOPE Teams.
- Ensure timely triage, assessment, and referral of consumers to appropriate services.
- Oversee risk assessments, crisis management, and clinical decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance referral pathways.
- Lead service improvement initiatives and support professional development.
**About You**
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in public mental health services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior clinician role.
- Relevant professional registration:
- **Registered Psychiatric Nurse** - AHPRA registration and a relevant mental health nursing qualification.
- **Occupational Therapist** - AHPRA registration and a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
- **Social Worker** - Eligibility for AASW membership with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented practice, risk assessment, and crisis intervention.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of mental health legislation, consumer rights, and ethical practice.
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and ability to drive work vehicles.
