**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Finance to lead the delivery of efficient, effective, and compliant financial management services across the State Library of NSW. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and financial systems management. You will lead a dedicated finance team and manage the relationship with our external shared services provider to ensure seamless financial operations.
You are a seasoned finance leader with a strong background in public sector financial management and a passion for driving excellence in financial operations. You bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or Accounting and full membership of a recognized Australian professional accounting body (CA or CPA).
- Proven experience in leading finance teams and managing complex financial operations.
- Strong knowledge of government financial frameworks, reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies that enhance business performance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and educate senior leaders.
- Experience managing external service providers and ensuring accountability through performance agreements.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

**Talent Pool**
