**The Opportunity**
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team of creative thinkers who are driven to create system change within the Out of Home Care sector. Berry Street recently conducted a strategic review of its Residential Care Program. This has resulted in range of projects designed to improve carers and young people’s day-to-day experiences. One key project is to implement a Teaching Family Model informed practice framework across all residential homes. The Teaching Family Model (TFM) is an evidence-based model of care which is focused on teaching pro social skills and self determination to young people.
We believe residential carers are a key agent to improving outcomes for our young people. The practice framework will support in upskilling our residential carers as well as provide consistent trauma informed approach for our young people.
To begin this important and unique work, our Practice Leaders will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the practice framework across the Berry Street regions. The role will focus on training, coaching and providing consultation to House Supervisors as well as delivering training to all our residential carers.
These roles sit within the established Teaching Family Model Leadership team.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Implement the Practice Framework into Residential Care across Berry Street
- Provide initial and on-going training to all Residential carers
- Provide on-going practice support through coaching and mentoring to House Supervisors across multiple regions to support the implementation of the practice framework
- Manage Program data collection
**About you**
We are seeking self-driving individuals with a demonstrated desire to create systemic and cultural change in the OoHC system. You will have sound experience working with young people who live with the impacts of trauma and neglect. You will inherently inspire those who care for our young people through a thoughtful and proactive approach to leadership and coaching. Being self-motivated and driven will come easily to you as well as having a keen sense of professional development.
