It is a 64-bed facility that provides emergency, surgical and general medical care to the area’s growing population. They have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Administration Officer to join their team. Position located within Emergency Department.
**About the job**:
The Emergency Department (ED) Administration Officer will perform administrative functions in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to support effective patient care. Providing excellent customer service to all patients presenting to the Emergency Department with a strong customer focused approach and providing timely and efficient administrative support to the clinical and nursing staff of the Emergency Department, including accurate registration, admission, and financial election of all patients and associated administrative duties.
**About you**:
- Excellent communication skills, including accurate spelling, good comprehension, good verbal skills and the ability to deal courteously with people at all levels
- Demonstrated computer/data entry experience, including use of databases and software for the management of waiting lists and patient administration
- Previous clerical/administrative experience in a healthcare setting, including qualification (or equivalent experience) of medical terminology
- Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment
