**Position Description**:
We have two Assistant Director roles within the Wellbeing, Health and Safety section we are seeking to fill with this process. We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, flexible and organised people to lead the Work, Health Safety Team and the Wellbeing and Mental Health Team. The successful applicants will be experienced wellbeing, health and safety leaders, with demonstrated experience in leading teams to deliver on a range of strategic initiatives as well as operational priorities.

We are seeking strong leaders who are proactive, has effective time management and analytical problem-solving skills and highly proficient written and verbal communication skills. The Work, Health and Safety Assistant Director drives specialist Health and Safety advice, assistance and support in relation to WHS legislative obligations, policy and operations to the department’s executive, line managers, key stakeholders and employees. The Wellbeing and Mental Health Assistant Director drives preventative wellbeing strategies for the department with a strong focus on early intervention and proactive support programs.

The team is responsible for the relationship management for all employee support services as well as driving strategic initiatives to increase employee workplace wellbeing and mental health holistically.

**Eligibility / Additional Requirements**:
To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the Department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include an identity and criminal history background check.

**Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance**:
The suitable applicant must also obtain and maintain a security clearance conducted by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).

Applicants also must be able to establish their background as checkable to be considered eligible for a security clearance. Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance. Background history must cover 5 / 10 years (Baseline / Negative Vet 1 or Negative Vet 2) of employment, education, residential, criminal history and anything else specified by the AGSVA. The suitable applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information to fulfil this process.
