**About the team**:
The Oil and Gas Division is an integral part of the ongoing energy transition-in Australia, Asia and globally. The Division works on a wide variety of onshore and offshore resources issues including policy and regulatory functions, developing and interpreting legislation and program delivery.

The Gas Branch advises Government on gas supply policy in the context of the Government’s long-term goals of energy transition. The Branch is responsible for leading the implementation of the Future Gas Strategy, an evidence-based framework which underpins the principles and objectives for gas policy in Australia.

The Offshore Strategy Branch is responsible for providing policy and advice to support the safe and responsible regulation of Australia’s offshore oil and gas resources. The branch is leading a review of the offshore environmental management regime to ensure it is fit for purpose in a decarbonising economy and reflects best practice for offshore environmental management.

We will be looking to fill current ongoing positions in the Gas Branch and creating a merit list for both branches to fill upcoming vacancies.

**The opportunity**:
The energy transformation underway in Australia is a complex process. Managing the complexity of the future of gas requires continued collaboration, close monitoring, regular review, and adjustment of actions. In the Gas Branch, you will have the opportunity to directly shape future decisions about the energy transition and support Australia’s net zero goals.

The Offshore Strategy Branch is responsible for supporting the development and continuous improvement of key regulatory settings for the offshore petroleum and greenhouse gas storage industries. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of key government priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-profile area, exercise creative and strategic thinking, and influence future policy direction.

As an Assistant Manager and in accordance with the APSC Work Level Standards for this classification, you will:

- help shape the work program for your section,
- support the Manager and Senio
