**Public Sector People (PSP) **are currently looking to speak to a
**Cyber Security Analyst** would be interested in a 6-month contract within Local Government.
- _As soon as possible start date _
- _6-month contract with potential extension_
- _Inner Melbourne location_
- _Hybrid working arrangement, currently 3 days in the office_
- _$700 daily rate + super_

This role is crucial for the day-to-day execution of operational processes and ongoing governance of Council’s security. This includes the compliance posture, measure against controls, policies, and regulatory obligations within the Cyber Security domain.

This role is a variety of BAU and also assisting with innovative projects to uplift the Council's infrastructure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform ongoing security monitoring for risk identification, capture, escalation, and reporting.
- Monitor and track ongoing remediation of audit and assessment findings with stakeholders.
- Provide first line support for management of security incidents remediation of incidents that do not require escalation.
- Deliver ongoing security operational processes that contribute to the ongoing assurance and compliance with Council defined policies and controls.

The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:

- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or specific training/ qualification in Information/ Cyber Security discipline.
- Knowledge and appreciation for Cyber threats, risks and related laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Excellent communication skills to advise senior levels of the Council on security and compliance issues and solutions.
- Knowledge of enterprise-wide security governance and compliance.
- Looking for someone who has a proactive attitude, can prioritise their workload/ requests and has great time management skills.
