Maintenance Officer

Baldwin Living Maroubra Gardens is an idyllic retirement village in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. It offers a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere, set in lush, leafy surrounds just minutes from Maroubra Beach. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team on a part time basis, 3 days per week.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Village Manager, this role will carry out the village groundskeeping and maintenance as per the maintenance schedule. This would include tasks including, but not limited to:

- Perform in-home maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, and fixing appliances
- Perform grounds maintenance such as pressure cleaning, gutter maintenance, waste disposal
- Conduct routine hazard inspections to identify any potential issues that may require immediate attention
- Maintain village plant and equipment
- Handling day to day repairs from resident maintenance requests
- Collaborating with and providing direction to village tradespeople and external contractors

**About you**
- A trade qualification (desirable)
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in property maintenance or building works or similar
- Prior experience in carpentry, roofing, building, construction management, project management
- Experience undertaking other general maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing and draining, tiling, plastering, minor electrical, painting, minor brick works, concreting and cleaning
- Demonstrated track record working on old buildings with considerable preventative maintenance needs, including diagnosing problems
- Experience in residential village or strata setting (desirable)
- Availability to work 3 days per week
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to resident requests with empathy and professionalism
- Knowledge of and commitment to health and safety requirements and responsibilities
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Ability to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance
