**About the role**

The Academic Course Coordinator is the primary point of contact for the academic team within a course.

In addition to providing leading and managing a team of lecturers, this role will also provide administrative and coordination support to the Head of School and develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and cohesive operation.

**About you**

You will be able to solve problems, make decisions, and manage your time well to meet deadlines. Given that you will be leading a small team, it would be beneficial to have some prior leadership or people management experience.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Academic Delivery**
- Monitor and ensure cross-modal consistency regarding teaching, learning and assessment materials, and course-specific teaching and learning resources.
- Ensure the quality of teaching, learning and assessment materials available to students and staff via the Learning Management System.
- Ensure current teaching and assessment resources are available to students and staff before the commencement of each trimester.
- Coordinate and monitor the quality of teaching within courses, supporting academic staff as required.
- Conduct teaching, assessment and student consultation for at least two classes or up to three classes per trimester
- Implement the development of industry-relevant teaching and learning strategies that promote employability outcomes.
- Organise and report internal course reviews and minor adjustments.
- Monitor and report the quality of academic delivery and continuous improvement process of a course.
- Manage, operate & report academic integrity, moderation, scholarly activities, and professional development activities of a course.
- Review the Learning Management System of courses, ensuring current teaching and assessment resources are made available to students and staff on time, and the quality of resources is consistent across classes.

**Academic Management**
- Support the HOS with the regulatory requirements and standards, and relevant policies and processes for the course.
- Maintain the proper conduct of academic matters within their respective course relating to staff, students, and academic results, adhering to organisational policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborate with the People and Culture Manager to onboard the new academic staff.
- Organise onboarding training for the academic staff.
- Oversee the teaching and marking allocation of the academic staff as per the session timetable in each trimester.
- Monitor and report student performance of a course, including pass and supplementary and deferred assessment and failure rates.
- Monitor and manage students identified as ‘at risk’, offering a supportive and student-centric approach to improvement.
- Support cross-discipline and cross-campus meetings as required to ensure communication and feedback and development and maintenance of high-quality work processes.
- Liaise with the Head of Schools to provide accurate information and student data to complete reporting requirements to governance committees promptly and as required.
- Assist the HOS with course delivery, quality assurance, and reporting frameworks
- Manage academic queries, complaints, grievances and RPL review requests for the course.
- Support student recruitment and orientation activities, including participation in open days and information sessions.

**Course development, accreditation, and industry engagement**
- Actively participate and contribute to developing new courses within areas of discipline expertise as required by the Product Development Team, including involvement in Course Advisory Committees.
- Manage the development and maintenance of learning resources of a course (including for blended and online delivery as relevant) and facilities for courses to ensure adequacy, appropriateness, and currency.
- Manage and monitor the content development process within a course.
- Engage with industry and professional bodies to maintain currency and relevance of courses and pedagogy.

**Team management**
- Lead and oversee academic skills support team, including recruitment, performance appraisal and goal setting
