The Australian Phenomics Facility, within the John Curtin School of Medical Research, provides research services to schools and departments across the ANU College of Health and Medicine, supporting biomedical research activities by providing the highest ethical and welfare standards for laboratory animals and ensuring that genetic and microbiological control is maintained.

Under the direction of the Operations Manager and Coordinators, and working alongside other technicians in the facility, Material Support Technicians are responsible for washing, preparation and sterilisation of supplies within the Animal Services Division of the Australian Phenomics Facility (APF). The successful applicant will be able to work in a fast paced environment and understand the importance of following procedures. They will have demonstrated good attention to detail, a strong work ethic, accurate record keeping skills and the capacity to work effectively in a team environment. The role includes on-the-job training, involving learning by observation, reading and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures / Safe Work Practises and supervised hands-on duties related to the objectives of research programs and the care of animals to the highest welfare standards.
