**Position Information**:
Batemans Bay High School has a student population of approximately 700 students located on the south coast. The school has links to the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and an Aboriginal Learning Centre to support the 165 Aboriginal students. Batemans Bay High School has 8 support classes that include two ED classes, four MC classes and an IO and IS class catering to the diverse needs of our students. We are a well resourced school in a supportive environment were students benefit from a focus on well-being. The building of positive relationships has enhanced educational opportunities and allows students at Batemans Bay High School to achieve educational outcomes.

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated experience to efficiently lead and manage school systems and processes, to ensure adherence to policy requirements and continuous school improvement while dealing with complex day to day situations.
Demonstrated ability to lead a faculty and build their capacity to deliver high quality evidence-informed and inclusive teaching and learning programs that build engagement, support high expectations and meet the individual needs of all students.
Capacity to lead a faculty team and build the capacity of the other teachers in the faculty to collaboratively plan, differentiate curriculum and affectively assess student progress through innovative programming.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
