Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the Northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic medical practitioners to join our team as a Rehabilitation Registrar in the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre for the 2026 Clinical Year (commencing 2 February 2026).

**About the department**

This allows a broad exposure and culture with teaching in the major core areas of rehabilitation medicine. At RTRC we have 62-67 beds across 3 wards as well as ambulatory programs and clinics.

**About the role**

We have 6 registrar posts as per the position descriptions;
- 2 in Spinal Rehabilitation;
- 1 in Amputee, Orthopaedic & General Rehabilitation;
- 1 in ABI & Neurological Rehabilitation;
- 1 unaccredited leave cover position for 26 weeks per year.

**About you**

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

To be successful in this role you must:

- Demonstrate sound medical/surgical knowledge, an understanding of the biopsychosocial approach to patient management, excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- The capacity to supervise and teach junior staff and students.
- Demonstrate rapport with patients and their carers, and developing leadership skills.
