**About the role**:
As Principal - HSE Investigator & Organisational Learning, you’ll partner with the broader business to uplift the capability and curiosity in relation to Learning, improving business processes, Incident Investigation and proactive data/knowledge trending.

The role actively challenges existing practices to uncover the root causes of both business performance issues and successes, positioning learning as a crucial driver for continuous improvement and sustained success. It extends beyond learning from HSE and Process Safety incidents, encompassing lessons from successful outcomes and providing guidance on corrective actions when things don't go as planned.

**Key responsibilities**:

- **Develop and manage the HSE learning framework**:Create and oversee a structured HSE Learning Framework aligned with Origin’s strategy, focusing on both corrective actions for performance issues and incorporating lessons from successful outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
- **Conduct and lead incident investigations**: Manage the full scope of Origin’s most serious and significant incidents, ensuring unbiased and thorough reviews, especially when investigations need to be presented to executives, board and government regulators. This includes maintaining a panel of external investigators and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- **Enhance organisational learning and knowledge retention**: Establish and maintain a central repository for organisational learnings, ensuring easy access and retention of corporate knowledge to improve learning from HSE processes and other business processes.
- **Monitor industry trends and incorporate learnings**: Proactively track external trends and emerging industry insights, incorporating these lessons into Origin’s business processes in alignment with the HSE Learning Vision and Strategy.
- **Coach, mentor, and build capacity in causal learning**:Train, mentor, and support investigators and team members, enhancing the organization's capacity for learning by sharing best practices, facilitating investigations, and leading learning sessions to improve investigation processes and outcomes.

**What will you bring?**
- Demonstrated HSE / Process Safety / Engineering experience from an Operational / Energy / Resources background
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety/Environment / Engineering / Risk Management and formal investigation qualifications
- Proven track record in contemporary HSE practices on investigations and learnings
- Proven track record of successful strategic planning and execution.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
