**WHO ARE WE**
PEER is a non-profit industry-based organisation, a Group Training Organisation (GTO) and National award winning Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering nationally accredited training packages to meet South Australia’s skill development needs.
**About the position**
Working full time or part-time, the WHS Lead at PEER is a Field Officer role driving a culture that supports commitment to health, safety and well-being of our Employees and Apprentices. With a focus on best practice WHS preventative measures, the role will undertake regular PEER on-site workshop and external host-site inspections, conduct WHS inductions and investigate all incidents.
Salary offered is $80,000 plus Superannuation. Performance and salary reviews are undertaken in accordance with a 12-month schedule. PEER offers a progressive and flexible workplace and is able to offer condensed working days and working from home arrangements, which can be negotiated after the cessation of the probationary period.
**In this Role, you will be**
- Contributing to PEERs goal of Best Practice in WHS to achieve Zero-Harm
- Inspecting, reviewing and approving WHS compliance requirements of our GTO host employers including regular on-site visits
- Ensuring PEER and host sites achieve compliance with all WHS statutory, regulatory and all other mandatory requirements
- Conducting WHS inductions for Apprentices, Trainees and Corporate Staff
- Undertaking Host Employer Risk Assessments
To be successful it is essential that you can demonstrate the following:
- Experience and qualifications in WHS (Certificate IV or higher) within a technical trade-based environment
- Demonstrated facilitation skills, high-level listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of WHS Legislative requirements, Standards and Codes of Practice
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and develop productive working relationships with Apprentices, host employers and PEER colleagues
- Strong computer literacy and experience across Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint )
- Currently possess and/or have the ability to obtain required certifications/clearances (Working with Children’s Check, Child Safe Environment, Police Clearance and White Card)
- Fit Testing Accreditation will be highly regarded
