**Position Information**:
Yarrawarrah Public School has an enrolment of approximately 250 students. The students enjoy a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. Our attractive school is well-resourced and provides student access to the latest technologies to further enhance their learning. Focus areas include reading, numeracy, high potential and gifted education, and Aboriginal Education. **Selection Criteria**:

- In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary underpinned by cognitive science, strong curriculum knowledge, and experience using evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs.
- Ability to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complexities of the leadership aspects of the Assistant Principal role, including managing multiple stages when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor and build the capacity of a diverse range of teachers including experienced and early career teachers.
- Experience and knowledge in leading PBL practices K-6 to strengthen student wellbeing and maintain positive partnerships with parents.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
