**Sydney Terminal**
Our Sydney Terminal is located in Botany Bay in Sydney's south east and is one of Australia’s largest container seaport operations. Fitted out with state-of-the-art container handling equipment, computerised control systems and extensive reefer facilities, the Terminal is a dynamic 7 day, 24 hour operation. The port environment offers variety and represents an outstanding opportunity to grow as a professional in Australia’s Logistics and Supply Chain Industry.

**About the role**
We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic people to join our Port Botany Terminal team in the position of a Casual or “Supplementary” General Stevedore.

You will start as a casual entry level stevedore role with an opportunity to move to more permanent arrangements in future. You will receive generous remuneration including shift premiums and overtime. As a Stevedore you will be assisting in the loading and unloading of cargo being handled at Port Botany. A paid comprehensive induction and training program will be provided.

Our workforce is readily available 24/7 to provide our customers with seamless access to terminal facilities in Australia around the clock. In this this role you will be required to work shift work, across 7 days a week. You will be notified of your shifts 1 day in advance by calling an automated phone system or checking online. You will be initially employed on a casual basis with no guarantee of shifts.

You will receive generous remuneration including shift premiums and overtime. As a Stevedore you will be assisting in the loading and unloading of cargo being handled at Port Botany. A paid comprehensive induction and training program will be provided.

**Key accountabilities**
As a General Stevedore, you will work outdoors and perform the below main tasks:

- **Lashing **- This is the use of heavy rigging equipment to secure shipping containers to the deck of a ship. Due to the physically demanding nature of this work, you will be required to demonstrate you can safely lift and pass a 'lashing bar lifting test' prior to employment as part of a broader pre-employment medical and physical assessment.
- **Internal Transport Vehicles (ITV) **- Driving internal transport vehicles to transport and move one 40 foot container or two 20 foot containers around the wharf.
- **Bus **- Driving a manual, 24 seat light vehicle to transport employees around the terminal.

**Experience, skills and qualifications**
- A current and valid full Driver's licence (manual desirable)
- A current and valid Forklift licence (or willing to obtain a licence prior to commencement)
- Able to work safely and as part of a team
- Able to work flexible and irregular hours including nights and weekends at short notice
- Able to work at heights
- Physically capable to undertake heavy manual tasks
