**About the Role**:
We are seeking a highly motivated person to be a Specialist in the Closure Planning team, reporting to the Manager Closure Planning, Minerals Australia.

**_The role will be performed out of our Brisbane office._**

In this role you will provide support to studies and projects, closure cost estimation, planning guidance that contributes to development, update and implementation of internal and external closure plans for our operations. Your technical expertise will contribute to effective engagement with external and internal stakeholders on closure planning issues and integration of closure requirements into business activities.

The Closure Planning team has accountability for: closure management plans and cost estimates, integration of closure requirements in strategic and tactical planning, developing and improving governance processes and providing input into water planning and mine development studies and environmental assessments and approvals. Working closely with other planning and operational groups, the multidisciplinary team made up of mine planners, geologists, environmental scientists, risk and finance, civil and environmental engineers provides the data and technical insights for successful closure management. This team is also central to the external reporting, relationships and strategy for Closure and Rehabilitation stewardship.

**About You**:
A degree in geoscience, engineering, or environmental science is required.

Other valuable skillsets include:

- Familiarity with closure cost estimating processes (internal and regulatory).
- Study planning and or project management experience.
- Experience in planning and developing internal and external Mine Closure Plans.
- Strong technical problem-solving experience with ability to succinctly framework requirements.
- Experience developing and improving closure governance processes.
- Experience supporting mine development studies, projects, environmental assessments and approvals and due diligence.
- Demonstrated ability develop and maintain environmental and closure risk assessments.
- Strong communication skills; formal and informal, verbal and written.
- Ability to work within a diverse team and able to show passion and be engaged in the team’s work.
- Stakeholder engagement capability with ability to ensure delivery on your commitments and hold others accountable through establishing clear goals and responsibilities.
- Capacity to prioritise work and tasks by identifying and focusing on the critical few things that add most value, as well as reducing complexity.
- Familiarity with closure and rehabilitation policy and regulation in Queensland highly regarded.
- Experience in mining and corporate planning processes.
