**THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Group Manager - Asset Decommissioning, Demolition & Closure, this role is as an influential business leader that sits within the functions lead team. The incumbent provides organisational and cultural leadership as well as demonstrable knowledge, experience, and expertise within their functional discipline and the wider Generation and Energy Transition (G&ET) team.

This senior role is responsible for overseeing and managing the safe decommissioning, demolition and rehabilitation of Generation's retiring assets. The role will have a robust background in program management, a deep understanding of environmental regulations, and a proven track record in managing large-scale asset closure projects.

The role is also accountable for prioritising, planning, integrating, and organising all aspects of all activities of the functional team, the business unit and wider organisation to ensure alignment and deliver upon of the strategy and business commitments.

This role will also be responsible for:
Management
- Manage budgets and ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and allocate resources to meet service targets and maintain affordability.

Leadership
- Ensure teams understand and engage with the company’s vision and strategy.
- Attract, support, and develop team members, encouraging high performance.

Project Management
- Lead multiple closure projects, integrating regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
- Develop and manage project documentation, schedules, and budgets. Ensure timely and effective project delivery.

Contract Management
- Establish and oversee closure contracts, negotiate with contractors, and manage associated risks.

Reporting
- Provide regular updates on project status, compliance, and performance. Prepare and present reports to management.

**IS THIS YOU?**

You will have:

- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Relevant degree and experience with power generation, energy, resources/mining, or heavy industry projects.
- Deep knowledge of project management, construction, maintenance systems, and principles.
- Experience managing EPC and D&C contracts and procurement.
- Reporting skills.
- Skills in mentoring, retaining, and building high-performing teams.
- Sound knowledge of risk management processes.
- Complex internal and external stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience delivering significant projects of similar size and scope. Experienced in projects valued over $500m (locally or internationally).
