The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Artisan (Mental Health - Rehabilitation) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide a broad range of therapeutic and mindful creative activities for patients to assist self expression through art
- Participate in assessing the creative and artistic needs of mental health consumers to provide an individual plan
- Develop, plan, implement and evaluate recovery focused group programs that address creative needs of inpatient mental health consumers
- Work alongside consumers on individual and group collaborative projects, providing instruction in art based skills and techniques
- Act as a resource person regarding availability of materials, projects, groups, courses, training and work options in the community

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- A diploma (or equivalent) or degree qualification in visual art, creative art, or drama would be highly regarded or a long history of advanced creative ability and knowledge
- If the successful applicant does not possess a Certificate IV in Mental Health, they will be highly encouraged to commence the Certificate IV in Mental Health within the first year of employment
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be completed

Salary
- Temporary part time (38 hrs p.f., 6 months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $3 125.20 - $3 443.10 per fortnight

The Acute Adult Mental Health Units are located at Gold Coast University Hospital campus and at Robina hospital and provide specialist, acute, Inpatient mental health service for consumers aged between 16-65 years. Care and treatment is a consumer focused, multidisciplinary, comprehensive and collaborative. Based at Southport.
