**Educational Leader - Director Assistant - 2nd in Charge**

**About us**

Little Steps Early Learning is a privately-owned early education and care service that believes in creating a dynamic, nurturing and inquiry-based learning environment for children and their families, educators and the wider community.

The centre, which was purpose built, is licensed for 40 children each day.

Onsite and street parking is available. It is conveniently located near public transportation.

**Qualifications & experience**
- To be considered for this role, you MUST hold a COMPLETED Early Childhood Teaching Bachelor degree or ACECQA approved equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar leadership role in an Early Childhood Service or minimum 3 years’ experience working in an Early Childhood Service
- A passion for providing high-quality education and care to children and families
- Proficient communication skills, particularly written and spoken
- Current WWCC, child protection, first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis certificates
- Demonstrated knowledge of the EYLF, NQF, Teaching Standards, Child protection legislation, Educational and Care Services National Law (2010) and Education and Care Services National Regulations

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- Be responsible for the development, implementation and reflection of a high-quality program based on service values and philosophy in collaboration with the Director/Nominated Supervisor, educators and management,
- Be willing to accept the role of Responsible Person under the Education and Care Service National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Service National Regulation
- Inspire and mentor educators regarding the implementation of service pedagogy/program to ensure compliance of the National Quality Framework (NQF)-National Law and National Regulations, National Quality Standards and approved learning frameworks
- Assist and mentor fellow educators in their professional development and deliver high quality education and care the children and families
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators and staff to deliver best outcomes for families and children.
- Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum in consultation with children, families, your team and the community
- Engage in consistent reflective practice - of personal practice and that of the service including policies and procedures
- Become an active member of the leadership team
- Become a valued member and work in partnership with children, families, your team and the community.
- Ensure and facilitates a play-based learning environment and develops learning programs
- Responsive to children’s ideas, strengths and abilities that inspire independent learners
- Implement the successful planning, implementation and reflection of a program for the service that is reflective of an approved learning framework; the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Assist in the collection, recording and evaluation of children’s records and observations, as required under the National Quality Standard and regulatory authority and ensure all educators within the service comply with these requirements
- Be willing to accept the role of Responsible Person under the Education and Care Service National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Service National Regulation

**Salary**: $38.00 - $48.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Lindfield NSW: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Bachelor Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
