Are you an experienced professional passionate about First Nations advisory and stakeholder engagement? If so, we have an opportunity for you to join an incredible team in Naarm (Melbourne) as an Aboriginal Engagement Officer.
**About the Role**
As the Aboriginal Engagement Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with First Nations communities and advancing commitment to reconciliation. Your key responsibilities will include:
- **Providing Expert First Nations Advisory**:You'll offer culturally informed advice and strategic guidance on all matters related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, ensuring policies, programs, and initiatives are culturally appropriate and respectful. This involves staying updated on relevant legislation and best practices in Indigenous engagement.
- **Cultivating Strong Indigenous Stakeholder Engagement**: You'll be responsible for building, nurturing, and maintaining meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, and leaders. This will involve proactive outreach, facilitating collaborative partnerships, and ensuring authentic community voices are heard and incorporated.
- **Developing and Delivering Crucial Training and Development**: You'll design and deliver engaging cultural awareness training and educational programs for staff and external partners. These sessions will aim to enhance understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contemporary issues, fostering a more inclusive and respectful environment.
- **Helping Drive Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Delivery**: You'll be instrumental in the implementation and monitoring of the Reconciliation Action Plan. This includes coordinating activities, tracking progress against key deliverables, and collaborating across the organisation to ensure reconciliation commitments are met and embedded within the organisations broader operations.
