**About the role**

We are currently looking for a **HSE Officer **to join our team in Australia.

Location: Munna Creek, QLD

Contract Type: Full time, maximum term

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Officer is responsible for supporting with construction and operational site Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) provisions whilst incorporating the Metlen HSE framework, values and objectives into everything we do. The HSE Officer will provide HSE administrative support e.g., facilitating site inductions, conducting HSE compliance inspections, ensuring compliance with HSE policies and procedures, and disseminating HSE information.

As an HSE Officer, you will be responsible for:

- Supporting the HSE Advisor with;
- Maintain the HSE Management system to ensure it requirements for:

- AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
- AS/NZS ISO 14001:2016 Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems; and
- Office OF Federal Safety Commission Accreditation (OFSC).
- Ensuring all work carried out complies with MYT’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements at all times and in accordance with MYT policies.
- Review contractors HSE Management Plans, Safe Work Method Statements(SWMS), Job Safety and Environment Assessments (JSEA’s) and Work Instructions (WI) prior to work being performed
- Assist with Developing and implementing MYT Management Plans, SWMS, JSEA’s, and WI’s
- Review, approve and check compliance for HSE related permits using the HammerTech HSE platform
- Facilitate Monthly HSE meeting with contractors
- Participate in site Pre-start, Toolbox meetings and other on-site meetings
- Participate in MYT HSE related meetings and raise with MYT HSE Manager as required
- Conduct HSE compliance inspections on site using the Hammertech HSE platform
- Participate in external and internal HSE audits
- Inspections and authorise plant, equipment and tools using the HammerTech HSE platform
- Provide required weekly and monthly HSE reports to HSE Manager
- Assist coordination of HSE training for all site-based personnel
- Ensure MYT HSE Objectives and Targets are reviewed, and conformance met
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with landowners, contractors internal/external stakeholders and Health & Safety Representatives (if any)
- Report HSE incidents and complete investigations using the HammerTech HSE platform (5 Why’s).
- Facilitate and/or participate in formal HSE investigations (when required)using the Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM)

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS).
- Previous experience as a HSE Officer or Advisor role preferably within the Building and Construction industry (Preferable but not mandatory)
- Understanding and implementation of HSE Risk Management approach
- A proactive and willingness to learn and understanding of how to maintain HSE management systems for AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018, AS/NZS ISO14001:2016 and the Office of Federal Safety Commission (OFSC)
- Understanding software programs that support HSE and the business i.e.,HammerTech, SharePoint, Procore, Microsoft Office suite of programs and Xero accounting software; and
- Good knowledge of OHS/WHS and Environment Legislation
