**This is a fantastic opportunity be part of a collaborative partnership between the University of Adelaide and Deakin University.**
The University of Adelaide in collaboration with Deakin University is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Level A/B) in Water Resources Infrastructure. The position will be located The University of Adelaide within the North Terrace campus.
We are seeking individuals with expertise in hydraulic transients research. The successful applicant will focus on furthering the development of leading technology for the active management of water distribution systems. Modern cities worldwide utilise “Smart Water Networks” to manage these systems, however many limitations still remain with respect to the control of potentially devastating hydraulic transients. This position will involve the development of data analysis techniques (including machine learning) and process-based algorithms to diagnose and interpret high-frequency hydraulic data for the purpose of providing actionable information. Analysis methods will also be developed to provide insights to improve network design and retrofitting of network components. Despite the focus on methodological development, this position will involve working closely with Adelaide’s water utility on their CBD network data.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to mentor graduate students and collaborate with other post-doctoral researchers. Mentoring and professional development opportunities will be available at the University of Adelaide and Deakin University.
