**Open Futures Disability Services** is an Australian Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast based NDIS Registered Provider actively supporting people living with a disability.

**AREAS- Brisbane South, Brisbane North, Ipswich, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast**

We are looking for reliable, committed and experienced in mental health support workers to join our team.

**About the Role**:
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:

- Providing support in day-to-day living, ensuring that they have maximum opportunity for developing independence.
- Providing opportunities for choice and control and participation in matters relating to the home, as well as facilitating access to community services
- Carrying out and promoting positive routines in a cooperative respectful and flexible manner, which are meaningful and purposeful to the participant
- Facilitating community inclusion and participation to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues and services
- Following Positive Behaviour Support Plans for individuals
- Working as part of a team and commitment to participate in team meetings

**Duties may include all aspects of assistance with daily living and personal care, including**:

- Light domestic support and household tasks
- Assistance or preparation of meals
- Support with assistive technology
- Support to attend appointments and grocery shopping
- Assistance with personal care
- Assistance with medication

**Mandatory Requirements include**:

- Current First Aid Certificate
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
- Experience working with challenging behaviours and mental health
- Current CPR (annual)
- National Police Check (less than 6 months old)
- Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and NDIS Screen (Yellow Card)
- Current Australian Driver’s License
- Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Covid-19 vaccination certificate

**Preferred but not essential**:

- Manual handling training
- Administration of medication training
- Industry experience will be highly regarded

**Salary**: $31.90 - $56.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Shift work

Supplemental pay types:

- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Support worker: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (required)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
- NDIS worker screening (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
