**About the role**
The Educational Leader provides mentorship and guidance to Educators to enable them to provide a program that is in accordance with the National Quality Framework and leads in curriculum development. They must ensure that children's experiences in an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) environment contribute towards positive learning experiences, as well as guide educator's workplace practices to be appropriate and intentional. The Educational Leader will work with Lead Educator's within the RTO (Centre Professional Learning and Education) to support trainees working towards the Diploma.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- In accordance with National Quality Framework Quality area 1 and supporting regulation 118 of the Education and Care Service National Regulations, the OSHC Educational Leader will lead curriculum implementation and promote contemporary best practice in line with the approved learning frameworks and service philosophy
- Lead and actively participate in reflective practice, discussions about practice and implementing the National Quality Framework
- Mentor and coach other Educators by leading in quality practice
- Observe children and educator interactions and make suggestions for improved interaction and intentional teaching
- Establish systems across the service to ensure continuity of learning and to support children with additional needs
- Assist Educators in documenting children's learning and how this can inform curriculum implementation
- Support the communication with families about the educational programs.
**Selection Criteria**
**Essential**
- Maintain current 'Working with Vulnerable People' registration
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent Australian recognised course
- Demonstrated ability to coach a diverse team of Educators and ensure that they are accountable to agreed educational goals, practice and behaviour
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of service standards and quality improvement processes in a range of children's services
- Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership and contribute towards the development of a productive team culture in a diverse work environment.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work to ensure the efficient delivery of outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound understanding and commitment of early and/or middle childhood contemporary theory, practice and curriculum planning.
**Desirable**
- Current driver's licence
- First aid, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management and CPR certificates
- Mandatory Reporting certification
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or be willing to obtain.
- Food Safety Supervisor certification
