**The Role**:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Leading Hand to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our surface treatment workshop. Your primary focus will be to ensure the safe and efficient execution of tasks, adherence to quality standards, and timely completion of projects. You will also play a crucial role in supervising and providing direction to a team of tradespeople, apprentices, trades assistants, and contractors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Supervisor in managing the daily operations of the surface treatment workshop, including implementing the manufacturing schedule.
- Provide supervision and direction to a team of up to 20 tradespeople, apprentices, trades assistants, and contractors, acting as a vital link between management and the workshop floor.
- Attend weekly production meetings to discuss progress and address any issues.
- Ensure all products leaving the workshop comply with company quality standards.
- Liaise with department Supervisors and Project Manager on a daily basis to ensure workflow and production targets are met.
- Assist with the allocation of staff and resources to meet delivery commitments.
- Mentor and support employees in their skills development.
- Maintain safe work practices and promote a strong safety culture in the workshop.
- Monitor employee adherence to company processes and procedures to prevent quality assurance issues.
- Take immediate disciplinary actions when quality issues arise due to negligence or lack of care, providing necessary training and upskilling as required.
- Ensure 100% compliance with painting and Fusionkote paperwork.
- Monitor employee competencies and training needs, providing advice and arranging training as necessary.
- Attend Daily Kick-Off Meetings to set and communicate daily schedule targets to employees.
- Conduct regular audits of housekeeping practices and coach employees on expectations.
- Monitor and schedule equipment maintenance, including proper paint storage.
- Manage employee performance, including day-to-day feedback and formal performance reviews.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Participate in the company's Work Health and Safety Management System and Quality Business Management System.
- Complete induction training and any additional training required to develop competency and skills.
- Interact with fellow employees, customers, and visitors in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Report all accidents and safety hazards promptly to the Leading Hand or Management.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet customer needs and expectations.
- Maintain a respectful and productive personal state while at work.
- Perform tasks in a thorough, efficient, and work-like manner.
- Ensure proper storage of work equipment and materials.
- Follow the company's policies, programs, and procedures.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to a diverse team.
- Knowledge of surface treatment processes and quality standards.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce safe work practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet production targets.
- Problem-solving abilities to address issues and implement effective solutions.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources efficiently.
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and attention to detail.
- Experience in conducting performance reviews and providing feedback.
- Proficient computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
