- 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,
- 2 days from an RACP office location per week,
- 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.
The Training Services team is responsible for training progression and providing support to trainees, supervisors and committees involved in the RACP training programs across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Our services include advising on program requirements, overseeing 43 College bodies, coordinating exams in Aotearoa New Zealand and delivering training support for both trainees and supervisors.
The Manager, Training Services provides leadership for the RACP operational portfolio across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality training programs aligned with the College’s mission and strategic goals, fosters strong stakeholder relationships, and drives innovation and continuous improvement. Leading a diverse team, the position oversees planning, financial management, and regulatory compliance while championing excellence in member satisfaction and education outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership ensuring RACP Training Services portfolio aligns with the RACP’s mission, vision and strategic goals
- Oversee the delivery of Training Services led by Program Managers, ensuring alignment with KPIs and strategic objectives
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and professional development initiatives to foster a high performing and engaged team
- Ensure optimal service delivery to members and maintain staff retention and engagement in alignment with organisational priorities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making, improve trainee and supervisor engagement, and measure outcomes
- Plan and manage portfolio projects in line with the College’s project management framework, policies and risk management requirements
- Manage financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
- Represent the RACP to external stakeholders, including medical councils, training settings, specialty societies, government agencies, and other medical colleges, fostering partnerships and collaboration
- Prepare timely and accurate reports, including key metrics, for senior management to facilitate informed decision-making
**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**About You**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as education, health, management, business administration or related discipline
- Senior leadership experience in managing large, complex operational portfolios, preferably in education, training or health-related sectors
- Proven track record in workforce management, including recruitment, performance management and professional development for large teams (50+ professionals)
- Experience leading organisational change initiatives including driving continuous improvement and innovation
- Experience in project management, risk management and compliance with regulatory standards, ideally in a medical or professional education context
- Strong background in financial management including budgeting, forecasting, analysis and resource allocation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation, member engagement and policy advice
- Demonstrated ability to foster cultural safety and inclusion, especially when working across diverse teams and geographies
