**The role**
We are looking for a practitioner to join our team with a view to growing their skills and experience in a dynamic environment providing a variety of workplace experience. We are looking for someone who is an early career professional with no less than 2 years of experience. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with clients to deliver people solutions that support the achievement of their goals. We provide our team members with on-the-job training and mentoring from experts in the field.

The role involves the delivery of consulting services including, for example:

- Drafting of employment contracts and policies
- Case research, case preparation and other advocacy assistance
- Industrial instrument interpretation and compliance advice
- Performance and development advice
- Discipline and dismissal advice
- Enterprise bargaining
- Organisational restructuring advice
- Workplace investigations
- Facilitated discussions
- Employee engagement and cultural reviews
- Training

**About You**
- Early career professional with no less than 2 years experience post graduation, with a degree in Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or related field
- Passionate about employee relations and a thirst for learning
- Research skills or the ability to rapidly acquire such skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent client service skills, including the ability to engage with people across a broad spectrum of backgrounds in a professional manner.
- Excellent personal organisation and time management skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage competing demands, adapt to rapid changes in priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to analyse complex issues and adapt communication style for the audience.

**Position Purpose**

The role also provides valuable support to more senior members of the team on larger and/or more complex client consulting projects.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Consulting Services_
- Provide clients with high quality human resources and/or industrial relations services which achieves their business goals, within scope of competency or under the direction of a more senior team member.
- Develop a speciality in industrial relations, including relevant research, preparation of cases for conciliation and hearings.
- Provide outsourced HR services to clients across the full spectrum of human resource management functions, in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to the development, enhancement and review of products and services.
- Ensure any client administration associated with provision of consulting and outsourced HR services is accurately completed in a timely manner.
- Client management_
- Proactively communicate with client partner and/or job partner regarding assigned job tasks, enabling them to proactively manage the client relationship.
- Proactively communicate with clients and maintain effective client relationships within scope of authority.
- Business development_
- Engage in business development activities with a focus on building and maintaining relationships and identifying new business opportunities from existing clients.
- Contribute to corporate business development and marketing initiatives and activities, as required.
- Firm administration_
- Adhere to quality assurance processes.
- Proactively contribute constructive ideas and suggestions for the improvement of systems and processes.
- Qualifications and Experience Qualifications_
- Degree level qualification in Law, Industrial Relations or Human Resources or related field.
- Experience_
- Experience working in a law firm or in an Industrial Relations or Human Resources roles for no less than 2 years.
- Competencies_
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to engage with people across a broad spectrum of backgrounds in a professional manner and a willingness to undertake what is required to ensure client satisfaction.
- Excellent personal organisation and time management skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage competing demands, changes in priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability in effectively driving performance and consistently delivering results and able to see a project through to completion in the face of resistance or setbacks.
