**About us**:
The Paediatric gastroenterology dietitian is responsible for the provision of expert specialty nutrition and dietetic services to patients and their carers/ families attending the John Hunter Children’s Hospital (JHCH) gastroenterology service, to maximise the health outcomes for young people with co morbid complex health, developmental and social needs.
Working within a multidisciplinary team context, the Level 4 Dietitian provides clinical leadership and expertise regarding nutrition and dietetics issues, and assists with the planning and implementation of interventions for patients and their families / carers. This position will assist and provide guidance to the service manager to develop the clinical service in response to demand and client needs.
As a level 4 clinician, the Paediatric Gastroenterology Dietitian will be responsible for the provision of professional leadership in all aspects of nutrition and dietetic care in relation to the area of paediatric gastroenterology, and will contribute to educational activities and provide consultation for other health professionals at a local, district, state and national level.
**About the role**:
Working within a multidisciplinary team context, the Level 4 Dietitian provides clinical leadership and expertise regarding nutrition and dietetic issues, and assists with the planning and implementation of interventions for patients and their families/ carers. This service provides both inpatient and outpatient management, education and research. At times, coverage of other specialty caseloads may be required.
As a level 4 clinician, the paediatric gastroenterology dietitian will be responsible for the provision of professional leadership in all aspects of nutrition and dietetic care in relation to the area of paediatric nutrition, and will provide consultation for other health professionals at a local, district, state and national level.
**About you**:
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated paediatric dietitian who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team as well as independently, dedicated to making a difference to children, young people and their families and carers.
**Requirements**:
- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

**Additional information**:
- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
- This position is fulltime, however temporary reduction in hours and job-share options will be considered.
